Mystery Movers needed for January!!

Hello Parents,

We have begun sign-ups for Mystery Movers that will begin after vacation.  A mystery mover is a great way for you to volunteer and see what we've been working on in Physical Education.  As a "Mystery Mover," you can help demonstrate the skill/task we are working on, or simply help the students with their work after I give the instructions.  It all depends on what you're comfortable with!  We will be working through our gymnastics unit so you might see some rolling, weight transfers, or balancing

If you are interested in coming in to your child's Physical Education class to be a Mystery Mover, please sign up for only ONE slot (to allow for other parents to be involved) using the below link:

There can only be one "Mystery Mover" for each lesson so it will be on a first come, first served basis.  If you don't see an option for your child's class, we will be doing some additional classes with parental involvement later in the year that you can also take advantage of.

Thanks for being willing to volunteer your time!

PEek Week schedule announced!!

May 16-20

What is PEek Week?

PEek Week is a chance for any and all available parents (please no siblings due to safety and space) of McGovern students to come in and get a “peek” at PE and what their child has been working on.  The lesson you will be seeing is one of the final lessons of our “throwing and catching” unit where the students have been learning to use a variety of throws (underhand/overhand/sidearm).  Parents will be participating with and also be taught by their child throughout the lesson so be sure to wear comfortable clothing and footwear!

As this is an open invitation, you do not have to notify me that you are coming.  All you have to do is check in at the office and head down to the gym!   Please see the schedule below to find when your child's PEek Week lesson will occur.

McGovern students to help Special Olympics!!

Once again, Medway students will participate in the Fourth Annual Five Town Special Olympics Game Day. This year the event takes place in Ashland, and Medway will be sending 13-14 athletes from grades 2-12. We would like to offer our support for this very worthwhile event in a fun way.

Therefore on Friday, March 18th we invite students and staff  to donate $1.00 for the rare privilege of wearing a hat to school. In this way, we can show our support for Special Olympics as all funds raised will be donated directly to them.

Thank you for your support!

Fall '15 Mystery Movers needed!!

Hello Parents,

A mystery mover is a great way for you to volunteer and see what we've been working on in Physical Education.  As a "Mystery Mover," you can help demonstrate the skill/task we are working on, or simply help the students with their work after I give the instructions.  It all depends on what you're comfortable with!  The skill we'll be working through on the days for the Mystery Movers is "kicking with feet," like in soccer, football, or kickball.

If you are interested in coming in to your child's Physical Education class to be a Mystery Mover, please fill out the google form at this address:

There can only be one "Mystery Mover" for each lesson so it will be on a first come, first served basis.  If you don't see an option for your child's class, we will be doing some additional classes with parental involvement later in the year that you can also take advantage of.

Thanks for being willing to volunteer your time!
